about
"While gangs and assassins resort to using blades and arson instead of firearms in Japan and other countries where guns are heavily banned, regulated, or otherwise unavailable, GRIDFAILURE adheres to this methodology out of sheer work ethic. In the US, where guns outweigh the entire population and it's too easy to spinelessly open fire on one's enemy with their back turned, GRIDFAILURE would rather track down, corner, and make eye contact with the adversary while exacting the rightfully earned revenge. Lines are blurred between work and pleasure as vengeance is achieved, as one sector of the lyrics describe: 'At a time such as this one cannot be particular, To the living ones I wish to make you perpendicular, Blades sharpened or dulled, I’ll employ them all, Whatever can be utilized to detach your appendicular.'" - David Brenner / GRIDFAILURE
lyrics
Utilitarian in my plan of attack
Use whatever is in reach to bring the bloodshed
No truce will calm this animosity
Opt for blades and arson instead
Into my field of vision
Appeared the target of this acrimony
From the depths awoke the demon
Which I've accepted will always be a part of me
Balled-up fists and a locked-up jaw
The initial signs of another downfall
Cannot suppress it, I’m clenched in the grip
Embrace it: enter hammerdown protocol
In this mission I require no assistance
No military persuasion or equipment
Just rudimentary combat instincts
This violent offense will balance the equation
Go on and run
The chase just adds to the fun
And once I’ve got you there’ no escape from this fate
It cannot be undone
Utilitarian in my plan of attack
Use whatever is in reach to bring the bloodshed
No truce will calm this animosity
Opt for blades and arson instead
Elemental is this animus
Vengeance the only word in my vernacular
No chance I want this to appear anonymous
This rampage shall be fucking spectacular
At a time such as this one cannot be particular
To the living ones I wish to make you perpendicular
Blades sharpened or dulled, I’ll employ them all
Whatever can be utilized to detach your appendicular
Utilitarian in my plan of attack
Use whatever is in reach to bring the bloodshed
No truce will calm this animosity
Opt for blades and arson instead

Call of the Void is the hook that draws you in. Then you find out Mutoid Man can go heavy with Broken Glass Ceiling, then jump to an energetic jam like Graveyard Love. Finally they hit you with an epic like Setting Sun and you realise that you have fallen for Mutoid Man's excellence. Thanks very much for the great album. rook96
